As the COVID-19 outbreak continues, we have been closely monitoring the regional and state health agencies, as well as, following CDC guidance as new and best practices emerge.

As always, the health and safety of all who enter our doors remains our top priority. On any given day, we welcome hundreds of people from all over the Triboro, Lackawanna County, and beyond.

We’ve advised our employees to follow the public health authorities’ guidance regarding hygiene and personal travel, and we’ve reinforced existing Berlew’s health policies encouraging employees who exhibit flu-like symptoms to immediately stay home and consult with a medical professional. Also, in addition to normal daily cleansing, we’ve increased disinfectant cleaning rounds on all surfaces customers and employees have contact with.

In further light of the Governor of Pennsylvania’s announcement on Friday, March 13, 2020 that closed many public facilities, and President Trump’s declaration of a National Emergency the same day, we’ve made the difficult decision to begin alteration of our services in order to aid in the state and national goals to mitigate exposure to the virus and prevent “community spread”.

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020:

  • Don’t forget, WE DELIVER—we’re happy to bring your order to you!
  • We’re encouraging all patrons to CALL FIRST (570-451-SHOP) TO PLACE ORDER w/PAYMENT to limit time among others in the shop, as well as decrease the exchange of money and touching of payment pads.

We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you as we all figure this out. Please be patient as some procedures may unintentionally increase preparation or delivery times, but rest assured we will be doing our best to keep you healthy and safe.

THANK YOU
